Indigenous Community: Rekindling the Teachings of the Seventh Fire

A Mother's Gift Cherokee Denomie drew upon lived experiencesThrough the eyes of a young girl, this gentle story celebrates the love surrounding the arrival of a new baby. When her sister, Dancing Star, is born beneath dancing northern lights, she begins to learn what it means to be part of a growing family. Rooted in Anishinaabe teachings, this story honors the strength of mothers and the gifts passed from one generation to the next.
