They were the first shoes that ever truly enchanted me oddly shaped, undeniably beautiful, and unlike anything anyone I knew was wearing. I loved them immediately, but only in private. Outwardly, I hesitated. They felt too risky. What if I got laughed at? So I waited. About a year later, I finally decided the moment had come. I pulled them out,
