The home vineyard takes in two terroirs: grey gravelly loams over clay and red loam over gravel

2018 Clarendelle ticks all the boxes for a great vintage

but it’s not labelled as such

discreet bouquet of blueberry and light violet aromas

Domaine Guiberteau Saumur Blanc Le Bourg 2022 Size::6 Bottle Case The home vineyard takes inPressed as bunches and naturally fermented, Le Bourg ages for 12 months in used barrels before bottling. Its a wine of menacing nerve, with more slate like minerality than Guiberteaus other Brz cuves. Theres real beauty in the waves of pithy citrus, crushed rock and smoky complexity, yet the penetrating length, flecked by chalk dust, aniseed and sherbert, tells us the best is yet to come. A striking wine that will benefit further from decanting.
