Description

fall out of the ownership of their sitter’s descendants

painted from life in his St John’s Wood studio

He showed with a friend’s gallery in Burford for years and I always thought one day I’d get around to contacting him

looking back to the 1880s rather than the 1920s when it was probably painted

He was a warm and humorous soul whose personality poured onto the page or canvas
