For Architects/Engineers/Consultants/ Accountants/Lawyers
This Policy is intended for Professionals like, Architects/ Engineers/ Consultants/ Accountants/ lawyers. For Medical professionals there is a separate Policy called “Medical Malpractice Insurance” as provided later in this Booklet.
This Insurance is designed to protect Professionals like Engineers, Consultants and others in the discharge of their duties, in the event of claim being brought against them, on account of legal liability arising out of neglect, omission or error in the discharge of their professional duties. Clients who depend for advice on such professional people expect reasonably high degree of skill, care and knowledge. If these professionals fail to exercise such degree of care or skill in the discharge of their professional duties, thereby putting the clients to loss and injury, they are liable for compensation to the clients. The Policy is designed to cover such kinds of expenses. The Policy can, in addition, reimburse the costs and expenses incurred with its written consent in defending such claim for compensation. Libel, Slander, Fraud or Dishonesty committed by employees of the Insured’s firm are not normally covered under the insurance but can be covered on specific request.
